Mobile Basics

Everything you need to know to get vimigo running on your phone - downloading the app, logging in the first time, finding your way around, changing your profile photo, switching language, and resetting your password.

What is it?โ€‹

The vimigo mobile app is how most employees use vimigo day to day. The web admin panel is for the boss, HR, and managers who configure things. The mobile app is where staff check their goals, submit leaves, see diamonds, read announcements, and scan in at check-in time.

This guide covers the boring-but-essential mobile basics that apply no matter which modules your company uses:

  • Downloading and installing the app.
  • Logging in with an email and password.
  • Navigating the main tabs.
  • Switching language between English, ไธญๆ–‡ (Chinese Simplified) and Bahasa Melayu.
  • Changing your profile photo, contact details, date of birth.
  • Resetting your password.
  • Logging out and switching accounts.

It's written OS-agnostic - instructions work the same whether you're on an Android phone or an iPhone.

Verify: Screenshots in the legacy customer pages reference vimigo app v3.6.30 build 11220 and "vimigo 3.0 app" branding. The current 2.0 platform app may show slightly different navigation labels. The behaviour described here should still hold; the exact icon positions may have shifted.

Quick Startโ€‹

If you've just been onboarded and someone told you "download vimigo", do these steps:

  1. Open your phone's app store - "Google Play Store" on Android, "App Store" on iPhone.
  2. Search for "vimigo". Install the app with the blue/purple vimigo logo. It's free.
  3. Open the app. On the login screen, enter the email address your HR used to onboard you, and the password they gave you.
  4. Tap "Login".
  5. You land on the home page. Take a minute to scroll through the tabs at the bottom - that's your main navigation.

After this, you're logged in and your phone is registered to receive push notifications from vimigo.

For Employeesโ€‹

How to download and install vimigoโ€‹

  1. Unlock your phone.
  2. Open the relevant app store:
    • Android: "Google Play Store".
    • iPhone: "App Store".
  3. In the search bar, type "vimigo".
  4. The official vimigo app is published by ADEV Ventures (the vendor behind vimigo). Check the publisher name before installing to avoid copycats.
  5. Tap "Install" (Android) or "Get" (iOS). You may be asked to confirm with a fingerprint, face scan, or app-store password.
  6. Once installed, tap "Open" or find the vimigo icon on your home screen.

Tip: Ask your HR which email they used for your onboarding before you try to log in. If you don't know, you can't get past the login screen - no self-signup exists for staff.

How to log in for the first timeโ€‹

  1. Open the app. You'll see the login screen with the vimigo logo.
  2. Tap the "Email Address" field and type the email your HR used to onboard you.
  3. Tap the "Password" field and type your password. If HR gave you a temporary password, use that for now - you'll be able to change it later.
  4. Tap the "Login" button.
  5. If login fails, check:
    • You're using the onboarded email - not your personal Gmail if HR onboarded you with your work email.
    • You typed the password correctly (case-sensitive, no extra spaces).
    • You're connected to the internet.
  6. If login succeeds, you're taken to the home page.

Tip: If you shared the phone, or you're logging in after a long gap, the "Recent Login" section may remember your previous account - tap it to skip typing.

What to do if you've forgotten your passwordโ€‹

  1. On the login screen, tap the "Forgot Password?" link.
  2. Enter your onboarded email address.
  3. The app sends a password reset link to that email.
  4. Open the email on your phone, tap the reset link, and follow the instructions to create a new password.
  5. Come back to the vimigo app and log in with the new password.

If the reset email never arrives, check your spam/junk folder. If it's still missing, ask HR to verify the email address on file is correct.

How to log in with Google (if enabled)โ€‹

Some companies enable Google sign-in:

  1. On the login screen, look for the "Login with social account" section with a Google icon.
  2. Tap the Google icon.
  3. Pick your Google account when prompted and authorise vimigo.
  4. You'll land on the home page without entering a password.

Verify: Google sign-in availability depends on whether your company has enabled it. If you don't see a Google icon on your login screen, use email + password instead.

Finding your way around (the main tabs)โ€‹

The bottom of the app has a navigation bar with your main sections. On most versions the tabs are:

  • "Home" - your dashboard: current goals, sales updates, shortcuts like "Check-in Now" and "Apply Leave".
  • "Overview" - your own overview page: profile, vision and mission, latest vimiClass, diamond balance.
  • "People" - other employees in your company, searchable and filterable.
  • "Inbox" - messages and the notification bell.
  • "Alert" - notifications / announcements.

The home page typically shows:

  • Your profile photo and name.
  • Your diamond balance and wallet balance.
  • Shortcut buttons: "Update Goals", "Update Sales", "Leave Approvals", "Apply Leave", "Check-in Now".
  • Your Vision & Mission block.
  • A vimiGoal section.
  • Any active announcements.

Verify: Specific tabs and their icons may differ across app versions. The five-tab pattern (Home / People / Overview or similar / Inbox / Alert) is consistent, but labels can shift.

How to change your profile photoโ€‹

  1. On the home page, tap your profile picture (usually at the top left or top centre).
  2. Your Profile screen opens showing your name, position, service period, contact details, badges.
  3. Tap the profile picture again.
  4. A menu appears: "Take Photo", "Photo Gallery", "Cancel".
    • Tap "Take Photo" to use your camera.
    • Tap "Photo Gallery" to pick an existing photo from your phone.
  5. After selecting, confirm. The new photo uploads and replaces the old one.

How to edit your profile detailsโ€‹

  1. Open your Profile (tap your profile picture from the home page).
  2. Tap the menu icon at the top right (usually three dots or a settings icon).
  3. Choose "Edit Profile" from the menu.
  4. Update any of the following fields:
    • "Display Name"
    • "First Name" / "Last Name"
    • "Email"
    • "Contact Number" - e.g. 012-536-9800
    • "Gender" - Male / Female / Unspecified
    • "Date of Birth" in DD/MM/YYYY format.
  5. Tap "Save".

Warning: Your email address is also your login. If you change it, you'll need to log in with the new email next time. Make sure HR is aware, because some companies treat the onboarded email as the source of truth.

How to change your cover photoโ€‹

  1. Open your Profile.
  2. Tap the three-dot / menu icon at the top right.
  3. Choose "Change Cover Photo".
  4. Pick a photo from your gallery.
  5. Save.

How to switch languageโ€‹

Your vimigo app supports English, ไธญๆ–‡ (Chinese Simplified), and Bahasa Melayu.

  1. On the Overview page or home page, tap the three-dot / menu icon (top right).
  2. Tap "Settings".
  3. The Settings screen groups options: "General", "Help", "About".
  4. Under "General", tap "Language".
  5. Select your preferred option:
    • "English"
    • "ไธญๆ–‡ (็ฎ€ไฝ“)" - Chinese Simplified
    • "Bahasa Melayu"
  6. The app switches language immediately. No restart needed.

How to reset your password (when already logged in)โ€‹

  1. Open the overview / profile menu (three-dot icon).
  2. Tap "Reset Password".
  3. Enter your current password and your new password.
  4. Save.

If you've forgotten your current password, log out first and use the "Forgot Password?" flow from the login screen instead.

How to switch between multiple accountsโ€‹

If you have two vimigo accounts (for example, staff in two different companies or a boss role + staff role):

  1. Open your profile menu (three-dot icon).
  2. Tap "Switch Account".
  3. Pick the other account from the list, or add a new one by logging in with a different email.
  4. You can switch back and forth without fully logging out.

How to log outโ€‹

  1. Open your profile menu (three-dot icon).
  2. Tap "Logout" at the bottom of the menu.
  3. Confirm.

You'll be returned to the login screen.

Tip: You don't need to log out every time you close the app. vimigo keeps your session active so you can reopen and go straight to the home page.

How to clear the app cache (if things are glitchy)โ€‹

If images aren't loading or you're seeing outdated data:

  1. Open "Settings" from the profile menu.
  2. Under "Help", tap "Clear Cache".
  3. Confirm.
  4. The app clears cached images and data. Log back in if needed.

How to report a problemโ€‹

  1. Open "Settings".
  2. Under "Help", tap "Report An Issue" or "FAQ".
  3. Follow the prompts to send a description of the problem to the vimigo support team.

FAQโ€‹

Q: I don't know my password and the forgot password email isn't arriving.

A: Check your spam / junk folder first. If it's still missing, contact your HR admin and ask them to verify the email address on file and to re-send an invite. HR can also trigger a password reset directly from the admin panel.

Q: Can I use vimigo on a tablet?

A: Yes - the app is available on Android tablets and iPads. The layout is similar to phone.

Q: Does vimigo work offline?

A: Mostly no. Check-in, leave submissions, and data updates all require an internet connection. You can view cached content from a previous session, but anything new needs you to be online.

Q: Why do I need to log in on my phone if I already use the web dashboard?

A: Phone pushes only work if you've logged into the mobile app at least once, because that's when your device registers with vimigo's push delivery system. If you only ever use the web, you'll miss mobile alerts.

Q: My app is stuck on a loading screen after login.

A: Try these in order: pull down to refresh; close and reopen the app; check your internet connection; go to Settings > Help > Clear Cache; reinstall the app. If none of that helps, contact support with your app version number.

Q: Can I log in with a phone number instead of email?

A: Not in the current app - login requires an email address that matches your onboarded record.

Q: Why are some menu items missing compared to my colleague?

A: What you see depends on your access rights and the modules your company has enabled. A sales staff member may have "Update Sales" shortcuts that an operations staff member doesn't, and vice versa.

Q: I got a new phone. How do I move vimigo across?

A: Install the app on the new phone from the app store and log in with your existing email and password. Your account and data are in the cloud - nothing is stored only on your old device. After logging in, your new phone will register for pushes and your old device's token will be replaced.

Q: Can my personal data (photos, contacts) be accessed by my employer through vimigo?

A: No. vimigo only sees what you put into vimigo (your profile, your goals, your leaves). It does not read your contacts, photos or messages. The only system permission it may ask for is camera (for profile photo / check-in QR scan) and optionally location (for check-in verification).

Q: I'm seeing Chinese characters even though I want English.

A: Go to Settings > General > "Language" and tap "English". If the app still shows the wrong language, close it fully and reopen.
